Salary: £10 p/h; contract: 6-8 hours a week - freelance; start date: February 2019
Duration: ongoing, but there will be a six-week trial and regular review points. There is potential for the workload to increase over the year.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking and organised Administrative Assistant to join Hashtag Press. The important new member of the team will work on our fast-growing, award-winning list and a new initiative we are running called Hashtag Press 2020.
The successful candidate will join our team on a part-time basis, working in Central London, with the opportunity to occasionally work from home.
The role of the Admin Assistant will include management of the email accounts, the website, assistance with social media, and support at book launches. The role will also include reading all of the submissions and managing the Hashtag Press 2020 process. The role will support the directors, working direct to the two co-founders of the company.
We are a small, busy and creative team and we are seeking someone who matches our work ethic; who is hardworking, reliable, has a good eye for detail, and is flexible.
Previous experience working in publishing is not essential. We would prefer someone who is looking to be introduced to book publishing and would like to have a career in it, who is willing to learn and work hard!
We are looking for a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong numeracy skills; the ability to multi-task, and to work well under pressure; initiative and the ability to work independently; confidence in building and maintaining relationships with customers and sales contacts. Must have a laptop they can bring to meetings.
