International literary scouts Eccles Fisher Associates is looking for a dynamic, hard-working person to join our team of seven scouts in our lively central London office
This is a linchpin role and will involve essential tasks such as looking after clients, tracking submissions, writing and sending out reader's reports, and managing all office systems and book fair scheduling. Before the book fairs, it will also involve helping with agent and publisher meetings. Also, sole responsibility will be given for scouting certain genres and territories throughout the year.
This is not an entry-level position; the ideal candidate will have at least three years' publishing experience. They will be organised, self-motivated and personable, with a solid understanding of how relevant aspects (agenting, foreign rights selling and editorial) of the publishing industry work. They will be a flexible team player, able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment and support their colleagues when needed. An additional language is preferred, as is familiarity with Bradbury Phillips.
The successful candidate would begin working with us in early March. The position is full time; the salary is market competitive and relative to experience.
