Weidenfeld - Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani

At Weidenfeld, Kirsty Dunseath has bought a first novel by a young Nigerian named Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani. I DO NOT COME TO YOU BY CHANCE concerns the so-called 419ers - the email scammers who write those 'Dear Friend' letters asking for help with multi-million dollar deposits. Nwaubani flips the concept around, as a young man turns to a 'Cash Daddy' in desperation when his father is taken ill. 'Funny, warm, but it also makes you think about the lives of the real people behind the email scams and why they do what they do,' believes Dunseath, who bought UK/Commonwealth from Angharad Kowal at Writers House.
