Shops will open in December and November respectively
Waterstones has announced store openings in Westfield London and Wokingham. Both shops will be open in time for Christmas trading.
Westfield London has been without a specialist bookseller since Foyles - bought by Waterstones last month - closed its shop in the White City shopping centre in 2015, citing the redevelopment of its area of the complex. It will be the largest London Waterstones to be opened since Waterstones Tottenham Court Road began trading three years ago. The opening is planned for December.
The arrival of Waterstones in Wokingham will restore a specialist bookshop to the market town for the first time since the 2017 closure of independent bookshop Bookends. The shop will open in the town's new Peach Place development next month.
James Daunt, Waterstones md, said: "At a grim time for retailers, it is especially welcome to be opening shops. These two are about as different to each other as bookshops can be, each aiming to become a real asset within their communities and to bring much pleasure to book buyers."
