You will be balancing reception duties, marketing and sales work, and general office management, as well as dealing with authors, suppliers, press and academics on a daily basis, so good communication skills and a willing attitude are essential, as is a demonstrable familiarity with our list and publishing history.
Experience in book publishing is preferable, though not required. Graduates welcome.

UK - Publicity and Marketing Manager
We're looking for a dedicated book marketing and publicity person who will work with our Senior Publicist and Marketing Assistant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for marketing and publicising our humanities and social sciences titles to academics and students across a wide range of disciplines, utilising email marketing, online campaigns, events and conference attendance. They will also be responsible for some trade publicity, securing events, interviews, reviews and online coverage. Building good relationships with major, national media - broadcast, print and online - will be central to the job. Creative use of social media and direct marketing tools will be crucial, including providing regular contributions to Verso's busy website.
As the main point of contact for Verso's authors once each book is on press, a demonstrable familiarity with our list and publishing history is essential. You will need to be able to tailor and present the salient aspects of each new title to literary editors, potential writers, and events co-ordinators - in person as well as in press packs - whilst also efficiently managing tours and publicity campaigns for a number of titles at any one time.
Candidates will be expected to have at least one year’s experience in a similar role.
