Look Up, a picture book to inspire curiosity, comes in June; big US deal
Puffin is to publish Look Up! by debut author and illustrator pairing Nathan Bryon and Dapo Adeola in June. Joe Marriott, commissioning editor, bought world rights in a three book deal from Sallyanne Sweeney at MMB Creative. Random House Books for Young Readers has signed Look Up! and a second title for a six-figure sum.
Look Up! features Rocket, a lovable, science-mad chatterbox who wants to be the greatest astronaut, star-catcher, space-traveller that has ever lived. Marriott said: "From the moment I read the first draft of Look Up! and saw a few early character illustrations I knew this would be a book - and series - Puffin had to publish. The message about logging off and delighting in the world around you; the inspirational central character, Rocket, bursting with energy and passion about space; and the heart-warming, oh-so-recognisable sibling relationship... Look Up! has it all!"
Heidi Kilgras at Random House Books for Young Readers said: "More than ever we need picture books that inspire curiosity and BIG thinking, and Rocket Says Look Up! does just that. The creators are super talented and dedicated, and we are thrilled to introduce their work to an American audience."
