Poem for Every Day follows Every Night collection

Gaby Morgan at Macmillan Children's Books has signed A Poem for Every Day of the Year, edited by Allie Esiri and a companion volume to her successful A Poem for Every Night of the Year. Macmillan Children's has UK and Commonwealth rights through Eugenie Furniss at Furniss Lawton.

Esiri said: "It's been wonderful to see A Poem For Every Night of The Year fly off the shelves. I am passionate about sharing poetry with the broadest possible audience, and am beyond thrilled to work with the brilliant team at Macmillan Children's on A Poem for Every Day of the Year."

Morgan said: "It was terrific to see how the trade supported and hand sold the first collection. I am looking forward to a rich new selection of verse treasures in this companion volume, with poems to match moods, seasons and events."

Poets in the new anthology will include William Shakespeare, TS Eliot, John Betjeman, Lewis Carroll, Carol Ann Duffy, and Kate Tempest.

A Poem for Every Night of the Year is on the Independent Bookshop Week award children's shortlist.
