Yellow Kite signs debut cookbook from zero-waste vegan chef Max La Manna

Lauren Whelan, commissioning editor, acquired World rights from Carly Cook at Carly Cook Publishing, and the book will publish as a full colour cookbook at the end of August 2019.

According to the acquisition statement: 'Max’s mission is to turn the tide on rubbish and breathe new energy into the leftovers that are typically destined for the bin, to reconnect food with our planet in a simple, positive way and challenge us to live more sustainably each day.

'He’s inspired thousands of people across the globe to rethink their attitudes to consumption already via social media and in More Plants, Less Waste he will share 80 delicious, low waste vegan recipes and the life tools readers need to make a conscious lifestyle second nature. Max will show us how to save money and add value to what we already own, feel good about what we’re putting on our plates and kickstart the tiny edits to our daily routines that hold the power to change the world.'

Whelan said: "As the demand for vegan food in the UK continues to soar and our concern for the planet grows alongside, Max bridges the gap between the two to offer a fresh 360-degree approach that we can all benefit from. His plant-based recipes with purpose will help us feel good, eat well and waste less food and plastic; he’ll show us that small, positive, consistent changes to our habits can make a huge difference to our own health – and to our planet."

La Manna said: "If you eat or care about the planet, this book is for you! I'm thrilled and beyond excited to share with you and the world my More Plants, Less Waste recipes. I believe no matter who you are, where you are or what you do, you make a difference in this world. Every small action we create makes a bigger impact. Imagine if we all made a change today? I’m looking forward to helping everyone do just that with this book."
