MIT joins Oxford litfest sponsors

Steps in to back American Literature and Culture programme


The MIT Press is to sponsore the American Literature and Culture programme at the 2019 FT Weekend Oxford Literary Festival. The previous sponsor was Arizona State University.

Authors from the press taking part in the festival, which runs from 30 March to 7 April, will include Cass Sunstein (How Change Happens), Thomas J Bollyky (Plagues and the Paradox of Progress: Why the World Is Getting Healthier in Worrisome Ways), Josephine Wolff (You'll See This Message When It Is Too Late: The Legal and Economic Aftermath of Cybersecurity Breaches), JPat Brown and Beryl Lipton (Writers Under Surveillance: The FBI Files), and Matt Hern and Am Johal (Global Warming and the Sweetness Of Life: A Tar Sands Tale).

Amy Brand, director of the MIT Press, said: "The Oxford Literary Festival is an unparalleled celebration of the written word and we are honoured to join with the festival in support of the American Literature and Culture Programme.
