Long awaited follow-up to hits The Art Book and The Fashion Book
Phaidon is to publish on 22 May its first interior designs book. Interiors: The Greatest Rooms of the Century (£59.95) follows the publisher's The Art Book (1994) and The Fashion Book (1998), which have sold nearly 2.5m copies in over 20 languages. It features "400 of the world’s best living spaces created by over 300 of the most influential people in interior design".
Keith Fox, Phaidon ceo, said: "What those Phaidon classics are to art and fashion, Interiors is to interior design and decorating: an enduring visual sourcebook of information and inspiration. It is a who’s who of the decorating world, past, present and foreseeable future, including designers, decorators, patrons, artists, and influencers."
Noteworthy homes in the book include those of fashion designers Bill Blass, Pierre Cardin, Gianni Versace, and Coco Chanel, as well as artists Pablo Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Salvador Dali.
There is a choice of covers: midnight blue, merlot red, platinum grey, and saffron yellow.
