Publisher-turned-broadcaster to host daily interview event at the Fringe: guests include Nicola Sturgeon, John McDonnell, Sadiq Khan and Alan Johnson
James Seabright in association with Northbank Speakers is presenting Iain Dale: All Talk at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, running daily for an hour from 31 July - 11 August. Guests include Nicola Sturgeon MSP, John McDonnell MP, Jess Phillips MP, Heidi Allen MP, Sadiq Khan, Alan Johnson, Kirsty Wark and Sarah Smith.
Since giving up his publishing role at Biteback, Dale has concentrated on broadcasting with LBC, plus punditry on CNN and co-hosting podcast For the Many with former home secretary Jacqui Smith.
Dale (pictured) said: "There’s a real appetite for live political debate and conversation and that’s why I’m delighted to be bringing a live political interview show to the Fringe. We’ve been deliberately ambitious in our line-up of guests and it’s testament to the status of the Fringe that they’ve all said yes! We might even occasionally get away with mentioning the ‘B’(rexit) word but we intend to have a lot of laughs too."
Last June, Dale, who had previously announced that he was stepping down as md of Biteback Publishing in order to concentrate on his broadcasting, signed with Northbank Talent Management. Northbank is the former Diane Banks Associates, which has relaunched with backing from Luke Johnson.
Dale said at the time: "[Northbank has] a fresh creative eye and I like the fact that many of their clients are from the current affairs field. I dealt with Diane Banks and Martin Redfern at Biteback and have huge respect for them both. I hope to have time to do a lot more writing and have already talked about possible projects with them. Their capabilities across the broadcast and corporate sectors fit in with where I see my career developing over the next five years. In short, I’m excited!"
