Huddersfield litfest unveils 2019 programme

Star authors and a range of inclusive events

Crime writers Ann Cleeves and Cath Staincliffe are to whet appetites for the 2019 Huddersfield Literature Festival when they appear at a pre-festival event on 6 March. At the festival proper (21-23 March), the stars will include Alan Johnson, Johnny Ball, Julian Norton (from The Yorkshire Vet), Nikesh Shukla, and Joanne Harris.

Among the many events at the festival will be a literary walk through Huddersfield, the Stafflex Free Family Day, Elmer birthday celebrations, the Fables & Fiction Cosplay Ball, writing and performance workshops, open mic nights, a poetry slam, LGBTQ+ performers at Polari Up North, an Events Around Autism strand, the Bibliotherapy Experience as part of Disabled Access Day, and a Wellbeing Weekend.
