FT Goldman Sachs long list announced

Lord Mandelson, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, will be the keynote speaker at the Financial Times Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award dinner, to be held at London's V&A Museum on 29 October - the seventieth anniversary of the Great Crash.

For the first time this year, the long-listed titles have been released. They are Animal Spirits by George A Akerlof and Robert J Shiller (Princeton University Press); Clever by Rob Goffee and Gareth Jones (Harvard Business Press); Free by Chris Anderson (Random House UK, Hyperion Books US); Good Value by Stephen Green (Penguin Press UK, Grove/Atlantic US); House of Cards by William'D Cohan (Penguin Press UK, Doubleday US); How the Mighty Fall by Jim Collins (Random House UK, HarperCollins US); Imagining India by Nandan Nilekani (Allen Lane UK, Penguin US); In Fed We Trust by David Wessel (Crown Business); Lords of Finance by Liaquat Ahamed (Cornerstone, Random House UK, Penguin Press US); The Match King by Frank Partnoy (Profile Books UK, Public Affairs US); The Myth of the Rational Market by Justin Fox (HarperCollins); SuperCorp by Rosabeth Moss Kanter (Profile Books UK, Random House US); This Time is Different by Carmen M Reinhart and Kenneth'S Rogoff (Princeton University Press); Waste: Uncovering the Global Food Scandal by Tristram Stuart (Penguin Press UK, Norton US); and Why Your World is About to Get a Whole Lot Smaller by Jeff Rubin (Virgin Books UK, Random House US)
A shortlist of six books will be announced on 17 September.
