Top award goes to Sight Smell Touch Taste Sound: A New Way to Cook by Sybil Kapoor

The awards were presented yesterday at Fortnum & Mason in London; they honour writers, publishers, broadcasters and photographers working in food and drink. The winners of the publishing and writing categories are:-

Debut Food Book: First, Catch by Thom Eagle (Quadrille)
Food Book: Pasta Pane Vino by Matt Goulding (Hardie Grant Books)
Food Writer: Clare Finney for work in Foodism & Market Life (Borough Market)
Debut Coookery Book: The Modern Italian Cook by Joe Trivelli (Seven Dials/Orion Publishing)
Cookery Book: Sight Smell Touch Taste Sound: A New Way to Cook by Sybil Kapoor (Pavilion)
Cookery Writer: Diana Henry for work in The Telegraph’s Stella magazine
Debut drink book: The Wandering Vine: Wine, the Romans and Me by Nina Caplan (Bloomsbury Continuum)
Drink Book: The Life of Tea: A Journey to the World’s Finest Teas by Michael Freeman & Timothy d’Offay (Mitchell Beazley)
Drink Writer: Alice Lascelles for work in FT Weekend & FT How To Spend It
Restaurant Writer: Marina O'Loughlin for work in The Sunday Times Magazine

The judges included Christine Hayes; editor in chief, BBC Good Food, Douglas Blyde; drinks columnist for ES Magazine, Felicity Cloake; author and columnist for The Guardian and New Statesman, Helen McGinn; author of the Knackered Mother's Wine Club and drinks columnist for the Daily Mail, Joe Fattorini; writer and presenter on The Wine Show and Stephen Harris; author, chef patron of The Sportsman, columnist for The Daily Telegraph.
