Pan Macmillan celebrates Independent Bookshop Week with Picador author tour
Pan Macmillan is marking Independent Bookshop Week with a tour from Picador author Ed Docx next week, running 16-21 June. In a workshop called How To Write a Book in an Hour, he will 'explain how great stories are written and teach readers how to do it' at the following bookshops:
Rogan's Books, Bedford (Sunday 16 June)
Chorleywood Bookshop, Rickmansworth (Monday 17 June)
West End Lane Books, London (Monday 17 June)
Hartss Books, Saffron Walden (Tuesday 18 June)
Rossiter's, Ross-on-Wye (Wednesday 19 June)
Booka, Oswestry (Friday 21 June)
Simply Books, Bramhall (Friday 21 June)
Tickets are available from the shops and include a copy of Docx's most recent novel, Let Go My Hand.
Docx said: "In my experience, people who are interested in fiction tend to be insightful people who are interested in life. And so time spent with writers and readers is time spent deepening the collective understanding of what it means to be human."
Let Go My Hand is Docx's fourth novel. His debut, The Calligrapher, was bought by 4th Estate and published in 2003. He has won the Geoffrey Faber Prize and been longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
