Sad news from Sweet Cherry Publishing after 'beloved and inspirational' writer died last week
The publisher has released a statement praising McNally's contribution. 'Sweet Cherry Publishing is sad to share the news that beloved author Susan McNally passed away last week. As one of the publisher’s first and most committed authors, she will be greatly missed.
'Born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, McNally grew up roaming the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, which later formed the inspiration for her spellbinding trilogy The Morrow Secrets. Dedicated to spreading her love of literature, McNally’s energy was an inspiration to her both readers and her marketing team.
'McNally defies the norms of literary conventions by focusing on strong women who live in a matriarchal paranormal society in her captivating fantasy trilogy, The Morrow Secrets. The trilogy has had lasting popularity since it was first published in 2013 and the books have received countless positive reviews from young girls. Earlier this year, Sweet Cherry confirmed that leading Russian publisher Eksmo would be publishing the books in Russian.'
'A loving mother, wife, grandmother and step-mother, McNally leaves behind her two daughters, Hannah and Scarlet, as well as many fans. A website has been set up in her memory, open to anyone who wishes to leave their thoughts and messages: https://susan-mcnally.muchloved.com/'
Managing director Abdul Thadha said: "I loved working with Susan over the last five years. She had a great imagination and was immensely dedicated to her fanbase. We are devastated and this is a huge loss. She will always be remembered here at Sweet Cherry."
