At Cornerstone, Emma Rose has acquired UK/Commonwealth rights to John Case's latest novel, CIPHER IN THE BLOOD, from Elizabeth Sheinkman at Curtis Brown. It features Joe Lassiter, the hero of Case's debut novel The Genesis Code. Rose says: 'I m such a fan of the early John Case novels and am delighted to have acquired Cipher in the Blood Jim is an author we re very proud to publish. It's an exhilarating read, and plays on all of John Case's strengths, blending meticulous historical research with a rip-roaring global-set plot and riveting suspense. This is a fantastic opportunity to relaunch the John Case brand.'

John Case is the pseudonym for Jim Hougan, who previously wrote the John Case novels with his late wife Carolyn. For many years, Hougan has been a journalist specialising in intelligence issues, a field in which he has been widely published. He has also made a number of TV documentaries. Cipher in the Blood will appear as an Arrow paperback September 2010, with a Heinemann airport/export trade paperback edition to be released earlier in the year.
