Bowling prize joins RNA

The Harry Bowling Prize , instituted in 2000 following the death of the Headline saga writer, is to be awarded at the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Romantic Novelists' Association in February 2010.

It has been renamed the Harry Bowling Prize for New Writing.
The deadline for submissions is 30 November 2009. The organisers said: 'We will be impressed by writers who are genuine storytellers, who entertain us with drama, romance and great characters, just as Harry Bowling did. Although all of Harry's novels were set in London, a new departure for our prize is that writers are now free to choose any urban setting for their novels.' Further details may be found at
