HarperCollins audio chief moves to micro-learning platform
Blinkist has appointed Rachel Mallender as its first head of new content development. Mallender, a former BBC Radio 1 editor, will be be joining the company in July after spending two years as group audio director at HarperCollins. She will lead Blinkist's content innovation strategy by devising new formats and products, enhancing the offerings that are already available, and building a new team based across London and Berlin.
Blinkist is a micro-learning platform that has 10 million users worldwide; it condenses non-fiction books into 15 minute audio and text digests that 'provide personal and professional enhancement.'
Blinkist co-founder and product lead, Niklas Jansen, said: "It is a huge win for Blinkist to have Rachel join the team, who brings with her an unparalleled amount of experience.
