Called Shakespeare &, the series will 'explore Shakespeare and his work outside the lens of traditional literary studies'

The first volume in the academic series from Oxford-based Berghahn Books looks at Shakespeare's relationship with Stratford; other editions include Shakespeare & the Arab World and Shakespeare & War.

The two general editors of the series, Graham Holderness and Bryan Loughrey, are also the editors of Critical Survey, a literary journal founded in 1963.

According to a spokesman for Berghahn: "The series will explore Shakespeare and his work outside the lens of traditional literary studies. By intersecting the worlds beyond fiction and poetry with those disciplines outside of literature and drama, this series offers nuanced approaches that reveal a more diverse and complex legacy left by Shakespeare."
