Pat Conroy, Nicholas Sparks and Richard Russo are among the authors who will take part in events at BookExpo America (BEA), which opens in New York on 29 May. Special Events will include the Author Breakfasts, the Saturday Lunch, the Audio Tea and the Meet the Bestsellers lunch, which was launched last year. 'Our line up is as robust as it is diverse, which is a point of pride and satisfaction for us, especially since we still have more dynamic author programming to announce over the next two months,' said Lance Fensterman, Vice President and Show Manager.

'As I stated when we announced our new Author Stages, we want to provide the media and the booksellers with an unparalleled opportunity to hear from authors from all walks of life, and we want to provide authors with an equally unparalleled opportunity to influence the influencers who sway book-buying habits.'
The line-up of speakers and events includes an opening-day breakfast celebrating children's books, with Meg Cabot, Tomie dePaola, Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Julie Andrews Edwards, who will be the MC. On Saturday, Pat Conroy is the star turn at the Book and Author Luncheon, and Sunday morning will feature Richard Russo, Gail Collins and Pete Dexter. Sunday lunch is complimentary, courtesy of Grand Central Publishing, and features Nicholas Sparks and David Baldacci.
