Quiller to publish Annie Tempest Tottering-by-Gently books after licensing deal; first title coming in April
Quiller has been granted the licence to take on the publishing of the Tottering-by-Gently series of books by cartoonist Annie Tempest, based on the popular weekly feature in Country Life.
The first title, Tottering in the Garden, will be published next April, followed by a co-operation with the countryside campaigner and author Robin Page to illustrate his book Why Labradors Smile, publishing in July.
Andrew Johnston, managing director of Quiller, said: "We are really delighted to be appointed to publish the future books for Annie Tempest, whose work I have long admired. Her wonderfully vivid and humorous cartoons and illustrations are a perfect fit for our Quiller list and will appeal right across the board to our target market."
Raymond O’Shea, founder and ceo of the Tottering-by-Gently brand, said: "Approaching the end of our 25th anniversary year, I am excited to be working with Quiller Publishing using Annie’s extensive archive to produce themed books on her perennial favourite subjects – dogs, field sports, diet, ageing, gardening, food and wine and many more.
"I am thrilled to be collaborating with Quiller which is a family run business very much in keeping with the Tottering-by-Gently ethos."
Quiller Publishing has two imprints, Quiller and Kenilworth Press, both of which are market leaders in their respective fields of country life and equestrianism. Quiller also publishes books on subjects such as rural life, food and drink, wildlife art, biography, humour, nature and outdoor sports.
