Janice Clark's reading of I Need a New Bum has already been viewed nearly 400,000 times

Scholastic UK has acquired UK and Eire rights to I Need a New Bum, written by Dawn McMillan and illustrated by Ross Kinnaird. The deal was struck between Samantha Smith, publisher Fiction and Picture Books, and Peter Dowling, publisher for Oratia, New Zealand.

The book is enjoying a renaissance thanks to the influence of YouTube sensation, Janice Clark, aka 'the Scottish Granny', whose 'laugh-out-loud rendition of Wonky Donkey set the internet alight', according to Scholastic. Described by Amazon.com reviewers as provoking "nothing but giggles and laughter" and "a hilarious books for kids and parents", I Need a New Bum, as read by Scottish Granny, has already been viewed over 372,000 times.

The book will publish on 20 December. Smith said: "It’s been phenomenal to see the influence of the Scottish Granny in getting families reading and laughing together. We’re so pleased to be able to bring another of her favourites, the irrepressibly hilarious I Need a New Bum, by the talented duo of Dawn McMillan and Ross Kinnaird, to UK audiences in time for the Christmas gifting season."
