Pinter & Martin signs breast guide for teens

Rights - Children Tuesday, 09 October 2018

'Girls deserve to be part of the contemporary conversation about women's bodies,' says author Emma Pickett

Pinter & Martin has signed The Breast Book, A Puberty Guide with a Difference by Emma Pickett, a breastfeeding expert and former deputy head teacher. The publisher has world rights direct from the author, and will publish the book as a paperback original in March.

The Breast Book is designed to educate and reassure girls of 9 to 14. Pickett said: "Our society teaches girls that breasts are either 'sexy' or not to be spoken about at all. Girls are entering a world of 24-hour selfies which may not always give the healthiest messages. Girls deserve to be part of the contemporary conversation about women's bodies and how society values them."

Martin Wagner, Pinter & Martin md, said: "Emma knows how to engage with children and make them feel understood and held. Beautifully written and evidence-based, The Breast Book will become an invaluable resource."
