Floodworld is an 'action-packed' story for 10-plus readers

Nosy Crow is to publish Floodworld, the first book in a new MG series by Tom Huddleston, in February 2019 accompanied by an ambitious marketing and PR campaign. Kirsty Stansfield, head of fiction at Nosy Crow, bought world rights from Ella Kahn at the Diamond Kahn & Woods Literary Agency. Huddleston is the author of three of the official Star Wars: Adventures in Wild Space titles.

Floodworld is set in a sunken city, where Kara and Jo have to scratch a living by navigating the perilous waterways. When they come into possession of a mysterious map, they find themselves in a world of trouble.

Stansfield said: "Tom's written a brilliantly dynamic adventure packed with ideas and heart - it really stays with you long after the last bombshell has been dropped."

Huddleston said: "I'm so thrilled to be working with Nosy Crow on Floodworld. From the first meeting arranged by my agent Ella Kahn they seemed keenly engaged with the world I was building and with the characters who populate it. I can't wait for Nosy Crow to get it out into the world, and into the hands of readers."

Kahn said: "Floodworld is a rich, exciting and original adventure, and from the beginning Nosy Crow's vision for the book has been ambitious and creative."

Nosy Crow will publish the sequel to Floodworld in early 2020.
