Man Booker Prize launches competition for indie bookshops

£1,000 prize for best window promoting the shortlist


The Man Booker Prize is launching a competition for independent bookshops with a cash prize of £1,000, to coincide with the 2018 shortlist announcement on 20 September.

Bookshops are invited to order a free Point of Sale pack, which includes bookmarks, sticker sheets, a shelf talker for each of the books and an A4 poster, by emailing Kate.Klevit@fourcommunications.com by tomorrow, Friday 7 September.

To enter the competition, bookshops are then encouraged to make an eye-catching window display using the official shortlist materials from the pack, paired with the best of their creative skills.

Booksellers should take a picture of the display, share on social media with the hashtag #ManBookerIndies, and email it with their details to Kate.Klevit@fourcommunications.com by 31 October. The Man Booker Prize will announce the winner on its social media channels on Tuesday 6 November.

The winner of the 2018 Man Booker Prize will be announced at the Guildhall on 16 October.
