Former Orion PR head joins as publicity consultant
Helen Richardson has been appointed publicity consultant at Head of Zeus. Richardson left Orion, where she had risen to group publicity and communications director after almost 20 years with the company, in January. At Head of Zeus, she will report to sales director Dan Groenewald, and will work with newly appointed communications director Chrissy Ryan.
At Orion, Richardson worked on campaigns for authors including Michael Connelly, Ian Rankin, Antonia Fraser, Bettany Hughes, Tina Brown, John McEnroe, Nicholas Crane, Erica James, Malala Yousafzai and Philippe Sands. She was previously at Transworld.
She said: "I am thrilled to be starting my freelance career with Head of Zeus. This is an exciting time for the company as it expands its communications department and I am looking forward to working closely with Dan and Chrissy on developing the enormous potential of the team and helping to grow the business."
Ryan said: "Helen is the perfect partner to work with us to develop the new team. The team, and our authors, will benefit from her vast knowledge and experience, and I am very much looking forward to working closely with her at this exciting time."
Groenewald said: "Helen's wealth of experience and strategic expertise will make an invaluable contribution to Head of Zeus' publishing this year."
