Faros Books launches in the UK

Greek publisher of award-winning picture books

Faros Books, a 70-year-old Greek independent children's publisher, is setting up a UK imprint. Roy Johnson, formerly with Frances Lincoln and founder of the Kid Gloves consultancy, will handle commercial development, and Saltway will handle sales and distribution.

The imprint will launch next month with five titles, with five further titles due in the autumn.

Antonis Papatheodoulou is the star of the Faros list. He has published more than 40 books, and has won awards including the International Compostela Prize for picture books 2016, the Greek State Picture book Award 2011, the Illustrated Children's Book Award of Diavazo literary magazine 2011, the Greek State Picture book Award 2012, the Illustrated Book Award of the Greek section of IBBY 2012, and the Non Fiction Award of the Greek section of IBBY 2015.
