US deal for The Year After You by Faber graduate Nina de Pass

Black & White Publishing has sold North American rights for The Year After You, a debut novel from YA author Nina de Pass, to Audrey Ingerson at Delacorte Press in the US.

According to a statement from Black & White: 'With hints of Girl in Pieces and We Are Okay, The Year After You follows Cara, who is sent to an international boarding school in the Swiss Alps in the aftermath of a car accident that killed her best friend. The story explores the redemptive power of friendship and the dark truths we keep from each other and from ourselves.'

UK publication, under Black & White's YA imprint Ink Road, is scheduled for Valentines Day 2019 and the North American publication is set for spring 2020.

Nina de Pass started writing The Year After You, her first novel, while on a creative writing course at the Faber Academy. She has an MA in French and Spanish from the University of Edinburgh, and also lived in Madrid, Paris and London, where she is now based.
