Partners launch production company, Open Book

Original Talent - parent company of the agency/production group that includes Curtis Brown and Curtis Brown Creative, C&W, Ed Victor, Fane Productions and Cuba Pictures - has taken "a significant equity stake" in talent agency Tavistock Wood. Founded by Angharad Wood and Charles Collier in 2005, Tavistock Wood represents clients including Rebecca Ferguson, Eva Green, Naomie Harris, Lily James, Vicky Krieps, Emily Mortimer, Liv Tyler, Alicia Vikander, Ronan Bennett, Russell Brand, Daniel Brühl, Charles Dance, Freddie Fox, Dustin Hoffman, Max Irons, Dougray Scott, Sam Riley, and Dominic West. It will continue to operate autonomously from its office at Conduit Street, London, with Simon Flamank and Ben Hall from Original Talent joining the Tavistock Wood Board. Collier and Wood will join the Original Talent Group Board.

The new partners have launched Open Book, a production company that aims to develop and produce projects from the company and its clients. BBC Studios will distribute Open Book's television output worldwide, and support its development work. Projects already in development include Nancy Mitford's The Pursuit of Love, with screenplay from Tavistock Wood client Emily Mortimer.

Wood said: "Charles and I founded Tavistock Wood 13 years ago and together with our superb staff have enjoyed seeing the careers of our artists grow in that time. We will keep the ethos of Tavistock Wood unchanged and our new partnership with Original Talent will support that intention. Added to which, our clients will now have access to a wider company of artists in order to create new and interesting work."

Collier said: "Within the Original Talent Group, we can keep doing what we do for our clients to the same standards, but with greater resources, greater creative freedom and greater commercial reach. It provides scope and scale, and a full production service when clients require it, and it taps into a deep well of literary resources that exists across the Original Talent Group. We are now part of a wider group that allows our clients to benefit from combined strength, comprehensive business infrastructure, extended opportunity and strategic leverage.

"We believe this partnership with Original Talent is a dynamic response to the rapid changes that have taken place in the creative industry over the last 36 months. It allows us to stay who we are whilst embracing the future, so we can do even better work with our clients, to whom we are incredibly committed."

Jonny Geller, Original Talent joint ceo, said: "Angharad and Charles are two of the most talented and innovative agents in the UK. Together they have built Tavistock Wood's global reputation with a list of premier actors, writers and directors."
