The Wasp's Nest explores 'the dynamics of an inter-office friendship between two women, which turns into a bitter rivalry'

Aria Fiction (Head of Zeus) has signed a three-book deal with debut author Naomi Joy, the pen name of a young PR professional who was formerly an account director at Storm Communications.

Hannah Smith, commissioning editor at Aria Fiction, bought World English Language rights from Kate Nash at The Kate Nash Agency.

The Wasp's Nest will be published this spring and explores: 'the dynamics of an inter-office friendship between two women, which turns into a bitter rivalry where they are bound together by a shared secret. Writing from experience, Joy draws the reader into the dark side of the uptown and glamorous, presenting realism that is life or death, unreliable and thrilling to page-turn.'

Joy (pictured) said: "I am absolutely delighted to have signed a three-book deal with the wonderful team at Aria Fiction. My debut novel, The Wasp's Nest, explores the dynamics of a female office friendship turned toxic rivalry. I hope it will start a conversation amongst readers who have experienced the issue – often described as The Sisterhood Ceiling – firsthand.'

Smith said: "I am so thrilled that Naomi is joining us here at Aria, she is such a talent and her writing truly speaks for itself. When the submission came in, I knew I was reading a book I simply had to publish!"
